Assistant Project Manager

Paul Wiedmaier is an accomplished Project Engineer with four years of experience managing civil and renewable energy construction projects valued at over $90 million. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and holds an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification. His expertise includes coordinating multidisciplinary teams, maintaining project timelines, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards from start to finish.

For the past three years, Paul has been part of Weiss Construction/Weiss Renewables in St. Louis, Missouri. As an Assistant Project Manager, he oversees RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications, conducts site visits to monitor progress, and resolves on-site challenges. He coordinates engineering, procurement, and construction efforts, calculates material quantities for procurement planning, and tracks subcontractor invoices, change orders, and purchase orders to ensure they meet contractual requirements.

In his role as Project Engineer at the same company, Paul worked closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors on a $90 million project, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of issues. He contributed to the development of Construction Work Plans with a focus on safety, sequencing, and resource allocation, created an Excel-based asset management and maintenance tracker, verified equipment specifications with plant engineers, and managed plant security access in compliance with site protocols.

Previously, Paul served as a Project Engineer at JS Vig Construction in Plymouth, Michigan. His responsibilities included supporting schedules, procurement, and subcontractor coordination, as well as preparing and reviewing subcontracts, RFIs, and RFCOs. He performed quantity takeoffs and assisted in preparing competitive bids for projects ranging from $500,000 to $20 million.

Earlier in his career, during a Field Engineer Internship with Motor City Electric in Dearborn, he supported operations at the Ford Truck Plant by designing cable tray systems, creating wire tags, reviewing diagrams, and assisting engineering teams with equipment troubleshooting.

In his senior year at Wayne State, he was part of the winning team in the Electrical Contracting Innovation Challenge, marking the university’s first victory in the event. Outside of work, Paul Wiedmaier volunteers at Holy Family Parish in Novi, Michigan, maintains an active lifestyle, enjoys golf, traveling, and reading, and is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, holding dual citizenship in the United States and Brazil.
